Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct for rio is intended to provide a safe, clean, accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all guests, tenants, employees, residents, office users, visitors, and service providers. By entering the project, all individuals agree to abide by this Code of Conduct, guidelines, posted rules, and all applicable laws. Management reserves the right to remove any person who violates this Code of Conduct.

 

  • Conduct that is disorderly, disruptive, threatening, or which endangers people or property is prohibited within rio, including but not limited to the following:
    • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
    • Use of profanity, obscene language, or acts, whether spoken or displayed
    • Yelling, screaming, or creating excessive noise
    • Loitering or congregating in ways that obstruct pedestrian flow or create a nuisance
    • Playing unauthorized music or performing unauthorized performances
    • Any activity or behavior that endangers the life, safety, or enjoyment of others
  • Illegal carrying, displaying, or possessing weapons of any kind is strictly prohibited in the project.
  • Offensive, inappropriate, or gang-affiliated attire, including clothing intended to indicate gang membership, communicate gang behavior, or display obscene symbols, is strictly prohibited. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Riding or operating motorized or non-motorized vehicles, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades, is not permitted on sidewalks and pedestrian common areas. Ball playing is also prohibited.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (21+) at all times while in rio. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising the behavior of minors in their care.
  • All open alcoholic beverage containers must remain in designated areas and must comply with local laws.
  • Smoking and vaping is prohibited in the project except in designated outdoor areas. Smoking and vaping within 20 feet of any outdoor dining area or business entrance is strictly prohibited.
  • Litter must be disposed of in designated trash and recycling bins. Vandalism, graffiti, or damage to any property within the project is prohibited and subject to legal action.
  • Unauthorized distribution of handbills or materials, soliciting, petitioning, advertising, promoting, assembling, and sales are strictly prohibited unless approved by management in advance.
  • All commercial photography, filming, or recording for publication requires prior written approval from management. Drones and remote-controlled devices are not permitted on the shopping center/project without management’s prior written approval.
  • Animals must be leashed or harnessed and under full control of their handler/owner. Handler/Owner is responsible for cleanup and disposal of all pet waste in designated trash collection locations within the project. Certified service animals are permitted inside the project and must be leashed or harnessed and under full control of their handler.
  • Fishing, swimming, or boating is prohibited without prior written approval of property management.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times near the water’s edge
  • Feeding fish or other wildlife may be harmful to animals and is prohibited.
  • Guests must comply with all reasonable requests from security personnel and management.
  • Any act in violation of Federal, State, or County law is strictly prohibited.

 

Important Notice

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, removal from rio, or a ban from future entrance onto the property. Serious violations will be referred to law enforcement. Management decisions regarding removal are final. Trespass notices may be issued where warranted. Banned individuals who re-enter rio may be charged with trespassing. Violations of this code of conduct may result in management having all other remedies available under applicable laws or governing agreements. Failure by management to enforce any provisions of this Code of Conduct at any time does not waive the right to enforce such provision or any other provision in the future.

Management reserves the right to modify this Code of Conduct at any time. Updated rules may be posted at the project, distributed to tenants or occupants, posted online, or otherwise made available by management.
